How much is the minimum investment for the GSIS Kinabukasan Fund?

GSIS members and pensioners can invest in the mutual fund for as low as P1,000, compared to the minimum investment of P5,000 in other mutual funds. They can also add a minimum of P500 to their investmnts.

If investors wish to cash in on their investments, Philam Asset Management Inc. (PAMI) can process their check the very next day.

What are the risks involved in investing in the mutual fund?

Just like in any business venture, there are risks involved in investing in mutual funds. Any investment decision should be carefully studied and, if possible, consulted with experts before being made.

The GSIS Kinabukasan Fund is a balanced fund, meaning half of the fund is in fixed income securities like Treasury Bills while the other half is placed in stocks. T-bills are guaranteed by the Philippine government and therefore are assured to earn over time. It also invests in blue chip stocks, or companies that are fundamentally sound and whose share prices are not easily dragged down by external factors.

Where can a member or pensioner go if they want to invest in the GSIS Kinabukasan Fund?

They can go to the 2nd floor, core F building of the GSIS home office in Roxas Blvd., Pasay City, or any PAMI office. They can also call PAMI at (02) 817-7264 to know the PAMI office nearest them. If there are no PAMI offices near them, they can approach Philam agents.

How can an investor know the value of his investments?

First, there are a number of major dailies that publish in their respective business sections the share prices of listed companies on a daily basis. Second, we send statements of account to our clients on a quarterly basis.

Investors also have an option to call the PAMI Head Office at 817-7264 if they want to inquire about their investments.

Does PAMI charge an administrative fee?

PAMI charges a very minimal administative fee of 2 percent of the amount of money invested. For example, a member has invested P10,000. For that amount, he will be charged an administrative fee of P200 a year. Now, we have a fund manager that manages the fund on a 365-day basis. That measn PAMI charges on 60 cents per day for an investment of P10,000.
